Dear OC Iron Soldiers Swim Run Competitors, Volunteers, Family and Friends

Please consider this your official invite to the 21th Annual OC Iron Soldiers Swim Run. It is my honor to again join you all in supporting our brave servicemen and women currently deployed in the Middle East and many other very dangerous parts of the world. What a strong statement you have all made over the years in supporting the Troops and letting them know that while they are over there, we are here for them.

**NOTE** There is NO entry fee to compete. I do ask that the night of the race everyone bring Treats for Troops items that our volunteers will pack and ship following the event. A list of items to bring are in the above attachment. Monetary donations to help pay to ship the care packages will be gladly accepted. Race sign up is the night of the race beginning at 6:15PM on the beach. No online entries. This is an INVITE ONLY event open to the first 100 people so please email me back to confirm your entry. I want to make sure that I have enough race shirts, food and drink for everyone so please email back ASAP. If your entry is confirmed and later you are unable to attend, please be courteous and let me know so we can give your entry to someone else. Also, if you just want to swim or run, we set up relay teams.

HONORING A LOCAL FALLEN WARRIOR

This year we are honoring Marine CPL Marc T. Ryan from Gloucester City, NJ. Cpl Ryan, a weapons expert, was killed in action November 15, 2004 while conducting combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Cpl Ryan was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment, 1st Marine Division and 1st Expeditionary Force. Cpl Ryan was a graduate of Gloucester City High School where he was a standout football player and team captain.

Many of you have told me that this night is one of the highlights of your summer. We try to make everything extra special for everyone involved, especially the family of Cpl Ryan. So please mark your calendars and plan to be there. If you have any questions, please contact me any time.

Very respectfully yours,

Freddie
